ReUse Art

Recycled and reuse art was initially a way for me to creatively explore problem solving using different types of recycled, or trash items as a medium. As a child, I made animals and small pictures out of scrap metal, old jewelry and bits of wood or fabric. I also began doing remake models from old plastic horses that I found at second hand stores.

My goal as a reuse artist is to continue to keep creatively useful items out of landfill and the environment. I have a collection of found, second-hand and recycled items that help me create pieces that are meaningful and emotionally valuable. Reuse shadowbox art is a way for me to develop and create nostalgic pathways that connect with the past and bring it into the present via a visual time capsule. Each piece is a transformative and innovative invitation into an imaginative, encapsulated world.
