Watercolor

I’m a colorist. I love how watercolors interact using different hues and water soluble materials. I create by using a selected watercolor and gouache palette and allow that selection of colors and water soluble materials to mix on the paper as I work. I salt, score, or scrape areas for water movement and texture, and occasionally highlight or outline color blocked areas using ink or tea.

I enjoy painting animal portraits and illustrated objects. Most recently, I’ve been working on small, abstract landscapes sketches. The pieces featured below are commissioned pet portraits and memorials, wildlife portraits, gallery show pieces, and business illustrations.

Paintings range in size from 14″ x 16″ to 36″ x 48.” I use 132 to 140 lb acid free cold or hot press paper.
